The Healthiest State Campaign understands the public’s desire for the latest information regarding the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus. Knowing that, we designed this web page with numerous links and resources to help you quickly find the information most important to you and your family.

It is important to note the Washington Health Foundation, like many organizations across our state, will be taking our information and response lead from Public Health, at the state and local level. They have been planning for pandemic emergencies for several years, and we have witnessed the great effort and results of this. You should be assured that our state and local public health officials have a solid approach to dealing with this, in concert with the medical community.

We know these can be difficult and stressful times, but we also want to remind you to use the same judgment you would use during a typical flu season. Do not seek medical care if you are not ill or have mild symptoms for which you would not ordinarily seek care. If you have more severe symptoms of fever, cough, sore throat, body aches or are feeling more seriously ill, call your health care provider to discuss your symptoms and to determine if you need to be evaluated.
