The Washington Health Foundation has selected six key health outcomes and 12 indicators of health risk to judge our state's overall health in the areas of Healthy Systems and Healthy Living.

The outcomes and all but a few of the indicators are a combination of health measures and indicators already used by state and national health rating organizations. A complete discussion and identification of these measures and the specific sources from which the data will be derived is found below. WHF's 2006 Report Card on Washington's Health

Overall WHF's 2006 Report Card on Washington's Health suggests that Washingtonians are making greater gains than residents of most other states in Healthy Living. However, more than half the states are surpassing Washington in Healthy Systems measures.
